Gallery of Art Glass

Randi Wagner is making available objets d'art from her art glass and painting project with the Marco Polo Fornace of Murano, Italy. In the spring and early summer of 1998, Randi lived in Venice and worked with the Marco Polo team and maestros. She has since returned to the United States with a selection of major glass works and her trademark large acrylic paintings in vivid colors.

Representative examples of these works of art are depicted here, but their full impact can best be enjoyed live in person. Their luminous colors and physical presence express the passion and skill of the artist in collaboration with two of the top maestros of the art of glass as practiced in Murano over more than seven centuries. They represent the fruits of the first American artist to work with the Marco Polo organization, and combine traditional Muranese techniques with Randi's design and hands-on composition.

These major pieces have been produced in very limited editions of not more than 12, with each one individually signed by the artist. Some pieces are one-of-a-kind.

Randi's Work with Maestro Gianni Seguso

Working from Randi's original designs of color and form, the maestro uses his own specialized method to produce these exquisite large pieces in limited editions. Gianni Seguso employs the soffiato technique of blowing glass to obtain a light and floating effect while carrying all the intensity of Randi's colors.

Randi's Work with Maestro Walter Furlan

Walter Furlan utilizes the sommerso or massello technique of infusing color into free-standing sculptures of pure crystal in order to capture the brightness and power that Randi has designed. Each piece is unique and carries the artist's signature.
